The former Loveday Mushroom Farms, now the South Mill Champs, is a landmark project that illustrates the success of the longstanding relationship between Contempora Steel Builders and BEHLEN Industries. The first phase of the project, in 2008, saw the companies design, manufacture, and erect a 72,660 square foot state-of-the-art facility northeast of Winnipeg. The structure was so reliable that the two companies came together again in 2016 to complete an addition that effectively doubled the space at the facility, increasing it to 151,655 square feet. Despite ownership of the facility changing to South Mill Champs in 2020, Contempora and BEHLEN have been called upon once again to expand the mushroom plant’s cultivating capabilities by another 89,180 square feet. Through every phase of the project, Contempora Steel Builders and BEHLEN Industries LP have been the most trusted partnership as the pre-engineered steel building manufacturer.
